This is a two-part season: the Mid-Autumn installation is intimate and lantern-based, then the National Day scheme is larger and more formal. Building both as one programme saves cost and site time.
Commissioned work in mid-autumn & national day vm normally runs from 6 to 27 m², with 3–8 working days in production from approved drawings. The reference range for this technique is CNY 2–15 per m², quoted itemised. It sits within our Visual Merchandising & Installations capability, alongside 9 related techniques, and the 4-point deliverable below is what a commission includes as standard.
When mid-autumn & national day vm is the right answer - and when it is not
Mid-Autumn installations are chosen where the space needs a warm, family-oriented festive moment - lanterns, moonlight, reunion themes - and where the evening experience matters as much as the daytime one. They suit malls, cultural venues, hotel courtyards and public plazas. They are usually lower and more intimate than other festive work, so the design has to work at eye level and under warm light.
How the work is actually carried out
The design leans on the evening: lantern elements, integrated lighting and a warm palette, arranged so the piece reads as atmosphere rather than as decoration. Lanterns and lighting units are built to a repeatable module so the same component appears at several scales, which makes a large installation affordable. Materials are selected for fire safety and for the electrical load, since decorative lighting and public interiors carry real statutory requirements. The piece is detailed so the light sources can be reached for maintenance without dismantling the display.

What we deliver
- Concept and merchandise layout matched to the site's footfall routes
- Rigging design, load checks and coordination with mall management
- Fabrication, trial assembly in the workshop, then night-time install
- Storage, re-use planning and dismantling after the season
Faults we see most often in mid-autumn & national day vm
Each of these is a field failure rather than a workshop one, and each is cheaper to prevent at enquiry stage than to correct after installation.
- Treating the lighting as decoration rather than as the main content, so the piece is bland in daylight and no better after dark.
- Ignoring fire and electrical compliance for lantern elements in enclosed public spaces.
- Rigging lighting so lamps cannot be replaced without taking the display apart.
What to settle before an overseas project starts
| Evening conditions | Tell us how the space is lit at night and when the installation is seen most. Warm festive work is judged after dark. |
|---|---|
| Compliance | Confirm the fire and electrical requirements for the venue. Lantern and lighting elements must satisfy them by design, not by inspection. |
| Maintenance access | Tell us who replaces failed lamps during the run, so we can design the access in. |
