A window display is seen for a few seconds by people walking past, and then in photographs for months. It has to read instantly from outside, work with the store's lighting at night, and be changed on a schedule.
Commissioned work in brand window display normally runs from 5 to 26 m², with 3–7 working days in production from approved drawings. The reference range for this technique is CNY 2–15 per m², quoted itemised. It sits within our Visual Merchandising & Installations capability, alongside 9 related techniques, and the 4-point deliverable below is what a commission includes as standard.
When brand window display is the right answer - and when it is not
Window displays are chosen to convert passing attention into entry, and they are judged in seconds by people moving past. They suit retail frontage with footfall and a clear seasonal or campaign message. The constraint that defines the discipline is the glass: reflections, lighting and the viewing angle from the street all determine what actually reads, and a display designed on a table often looks nothing like the finished window.
How the work is actually carried out
Design begins with the sightline from the street - the angle, the distance, the speed of the passer-by and the reflections in the glass at different times of day. Content is composed for that view rather than for the plan view, and the lighting is designed to overcome reflection rather than add to it. Change-out access is planned, since windows are refreshed on a campaign cycle, and the structure is built so the window can be re-dressed by store staff without special tools. Fire and electrical compliance is resolved for the venue.

What we deliver
- Concept and merchandise layout matched to the site's footfall routes
- Rigging design, load checks and coordination with mall management
- Fabrication, trial assembly in the workshop, then night-time install
- Storage, re-use planning and dismantling after the season
Faults we see most often in brand window display
Each of these is a field failure rather than a workshop one, and each is cheaper to prevent at enquiry stage than to correct after installation.
- Designing on a plan view and never standing on the pavement to check how it reads through real glass.
- Lighting the window without accounting for daytime reflection, so the display is invisible for most of the day.
- Building a structure that only the original installers can re-dress, which makes every refresh an external call-out.
What to settle before an overseas project starts
| Street sightline | Send photographs from the pavement at the distances and angles people actually pass. It is the only view that matters. |
|---|---|
| Reflection and lighting | Tell us which way the window faces and how daylight hits the glass. It decides the lighting design entirely. |
| Change-out cycle | Tell us how often the window changes and who does it. Design for that, or every refresh becomes a project. |
