A launch stage exists to make one moment land: the reveal. Everything else - the approach, the lighting, the camera positions - is designed to serve it, and the schedule is fixed by the press and the announcement.
Commissioned work in product-launch stage normally runs from 6 to 30 m², with 5–14 working days in production from approved drawings. The reference range for this technique is CNY 800–2500 per m², quoted itemised. It sits within our Exhibition & Event Build capability, alongside 7 related techniques, and the 4-point deliverable below is what a commission includes as standard.
When product-launch stage is the right answer - and when it is not
Launch event staging is chosen to create one memorable physical moment that will be photographed, filmed and shared. It suits product launches, premieres, brand reveals and press events. The design is judged almost entirely through the lens, and the schedule is immovable, so both the visual and the programme carry unusually high stakes. It is the wrong route where the requirement is a space that has to work for a season rather than an evening, since everything about launch staging is optimised for a single high-pressure moment and the materials chosen for speed and camera response are not the ones that survive months of public use.
How the work is actually carried out
The reveal moment is designed first - what happens, where the cameras are, and what the frame contains - and everything else is built around it. Backdrops are designed to the camera crop with the logo placed against the actual framing, and lighting is designed to make people look good on camera rather than to illuminate the set. Build is modular, pre-tested and rehearsed in the venue, with a strike planned for the same night. Contingency is written into the programme because a press event cannot be moved for a build problem. A full technical rehearsal with the actual presenter and the actual lighting state happens before the event rather than on the day, since camera exposure, screen content and the reveal sequence only settle once all three run together.

- Structures, graphics, lighting, AV mounting and furniture
- On-site build, opening-day standby and dismantling
Faults we see most often in product-launch stage
Each of these is a field failure rather than a workshop one, and each is cheaper to prevent at enquiry stage than to correct after installation.
- Designing for the audience in the room when the audience for the event is on camera, which is where launch staging most often misses.
- Leaving no contingency before a fixed press deadline, in work where the event cannot be postponed.
- Lighting the set rather than the people, producing footage where the presenter disappears into the background.
What to settle before an overseas project starts
| The reveal moment | Describe the single moment the event is built around. Everything else is designed in support of it. |
|---|---|
| Camera plan and framing | Send the camera positions and framing. The backdrop and the logo placement are designed to the crop. |
| Immovable deadline | Tell us the date and the build window. Contingency is planned into the programme, not hoped for. |
